The London Legacy Development Corporation, which operates the Park, is seeking to lease the Arena under a new operating arrangement that will build on the venue’s first successful decade.

Edward Fane, Head of Venues at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, said: “This is an opportunity for a best in class organisation to operate London’s 3rd largest indoor arena, in the heart of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London.”

“Ten years on from the London 2012 Games, the Copper Box Arena has showcased its versatility and hosted a multitude of national and international events and provided opportunities for eSports, cultural and sporting events, professional sports teams, community uses and health and fitness. “London’s centre of gravity is clearly moving east with sport, culture and education at the heart of this new metropolitan centre in Stratford. The Copper Box Arena will sit alongside existing developments such as HereEast and the new East Bank development which is a powerhouse for culture, innovation, creativity and learning with its unique collaboration of world-renowned universities UCL (University College London) and UAL’s London College of Fashion and global cultural brands of the BBC, Sadler’s Wells and the V&A offering new opportunities for collaborations and events and increased footfall and tourism”

“It is a once in a decade opportunity and a prestigious and high value contract critically important to ongoing success of the cultural and sporting legacy of the Park and wider estate. We are seeking a significant partnership for the next ten years to bring more high profile events to the Park and build on the Arena’s hugely successful first decade.”

LLDC is looking to appoint a service provider that will operate and maintain the Arena, continuing the high level of public use and attracting major national and international events.

LLDC operates Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park through a variety of service contracts that have been let from the Park’s inception; some prior to London 2012 and some as the Park has evolved into its current form post-Games.

LLDC is seeking to award a new operating contract for these world-class Venues for first time since the original tender in 2011. To appoint a service provider that will operate and maintain the Centre, continuing the high level of public use and attracting major national and international events.

The award will be made in another year of evolution for the Park, with the opening of the new East Bank cultural development adjoining the Centre, starting in summer 2023, and more and more people choosing to work, live and study on the Park.
