Sibec Europe, scheduled to take place in Cologne, Germany, from 2 to 5 November 2021, has been cancelled.

In a statement, the team behind the fitness industry event said it had been forced to make the move due to the ongoing pandemic and added that the next Sibec Europe would take place sometime in 2022.

"Due to the ongoing challenges associated with the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we are deeply disappointed that we have been forced to cancel the 2021 Sibec Europe event," the team said.

"We have been working closely with the community, and it is from that input and feedback that we are making this decision.

"While we're disappointed that we're unable to bring the industry together this November, we're as dedicated as ever to the Sibec community and to ensure that their participation in our events is an exceptional experience.

"We'll release more information about our 2022 Sibec EU event over the next few months and publish updates on our website (www.sibeceu.com)."

While the Sibec event has been cancelled, EuropeActive, in cooperation with FIBO Global Fitness, will still be hosting the European Health & Fitness Forum (EHFF) as a hybrid event, scheduled for 3 November 2021.

Sibec EU was originally scheduled to take place at the Forte Village Resort in Sardinia, Italy from 2-4 November 2021.

In April 2021, Questex, owner of Sibec EU, announced it had partnered with FIBO and moved the event and to host it alongside the world's largest fitness trade show – as well as the EuropeActive conference – in Cologne.

In July 2021, however, FIBO postponed its own event until April 2022.
