Planet Fitness’ new R100m (£6.6m) premium sports-spa facility is due to open in the Sandton district of Johannesburg, South Africa, in October.
The 5,000sq m (53,820sq ft) facility will offer a fitness suite equipped by Technogym, including the Technogym Wellness System.
An electronic personal trainer will provide members with a comprehensive computerised assessment measuring fi tness levels, body fat, fl exibility and strength, allowing instructors to provide effective, personalised programmes.
The club’s authentic Bikram yoga studio will have imported bamboo floors and 40°C heating, while a Kinesis studio will allow the gym to offer more than 250 sports-specifi c exercises.
Luxury changing rooms will include state of the art showers, saunas, roman baths and steamroom facilities, while a 25m heated indoor pool will offer light therapy and soothing underwater music.
The facility will also offer a top of the range day spa, a 250m all-weather running track, and an indoor virtual golf driving range.
Members will be assisted by dedicated golf trainers offering specialist conditioning programmes.
The WiFi-enabled executive member lounge will be serviced by the Radisson Hotel, and will accommodate members only champagne evenings.
