Shown for the first time at IAAPA recently and to be introduced to the European sector at EAS in Vienna, Pedal Splash is a tracked system with cars, where the vehicles are armed with water guns. The idea is to get the occupants of other cars as wet as possible while trying to stay dry yourself.

Propelled by pedal force with an ac motor, the cars move close to one another at various points during the ride, which is when the passengers have to work as a team. The speed needs to be controlled for getting into the right position for both activating the water guns and staying dry.

Scope for the manoeuvre of individual cars is limited, though, because of the others on the track. Running for safety could mean encountering the car in front with its guns pointing backwards. Another part of the ride experience is refilling the water tanks, the reward for which is a full load for the next part of the ride.

Elsewhere on the circuit, Pedal Splash travels through a splash zone, where stationary water guns can be used by anyone outside the ride for an exchange of fire with those people inside it.

Options include water jets installed instead of the pedal columns for all four car seats and interactive water curtains or water targets incorporated into the ride to challenge teams to stay dry.

Suitable for use installation indoors or outdoors, Pedal Splash has a typical track length of between 200m and 350m and can accommodate between 10 and 18 cars carrying four adults and two children each.

Ammunition is consumed at the rate of 8ltrs per minute per gun.
