TV star promotes new disability web site

Actress and wheelchair user, Julie Fernandez, wants local businesses to list their services free on a nationwide access web site.

Julie, of The Office tv show, is encouraging all independent companies which invite the public into their premises, to detail their business and services on the www.directenquiries.com access and facilities web site.

As a wheelchair user she said she finds it extremely useful to be able to search the site for information on restaurants, pubs, leisure centres, libraries, etc, that meet her requirements.

Until 1st October this year, Direct Enquiries is running a no obligation, free advertising period for small businesses with no more than two locations. After that date, a nominal fee per location will become payable.

The company estimates that people with disabilities spend over £40bn per year on goods and services.
