Netpulse, the world’s leading provider of branded mobile apps for the fitness industry, have launched a new 'GDPR-friendly' digital referrals feature, which allows members to refer their friends directly from their smartphone.
With the advent of new data protection law in May, operators may find that their existing processes for collecting and storing referrals are no longer compliant, as they require express permission from the person being referred before personal information can be stored. GDPR legislation is a major risk for businesses of all sizes, since failure to comply can result in fines of up to €20 million, or 4 per cent of global annual turnover.
Netpulse’s solution complies fully with the requirements of the new GDPR rules, by ensuring that permission is obtained from the referral before their contact details are stored in operators’ lead management system. It also integrates seamlessly with other key components of Netpulse’s branded mobile apps, such as their integrated loyalty programme which rewards members for positive behaviours such as working out, attending classes and referring friends.
