Humidity control experts Munters have launched their new free psychrometric calculation tool called PsychroApp.
Designed to help industry professionals calculate the thermodynamic properties of air and create their optimal food climate with more accuracy, it can be used on the iPhone and iPod Touch and is capable of running unmodified on the iPad. Other versions, such as Android, are in development.
Most offices, hotels, industrial premises, hospitals and leisure facilities building quality and air quality can be effected by uncontrolled humidity environments due to mould, building fabric deterioration and condensation.
However, all buildings have a 'comfort zone' which secures greater indoor air quality, building operation and fabric longevity.
Munters new tool provides complete psychrometric calculations for - amongst other things - relative humidity and dewpoint, all at the touch of a button.
Psychrometric charts aren't needed because the PsychroApp can calculate the total, sensible, latent and moisture loads of any process or preservation environment.
It works by entering the temperature and relative humidity, upon which the device will output the corresponding dewpoint or grams per kg/grains per pound, providing the insight required for a specific job.
