Sunquest Tanning Systems' says interest in its new range of high pressure tanning units is hotting up.

So much so that the company has produced a free guide to help both current and potential users better grasp the advantages and benefits of high-pressure tanning - and also dispel some of the myths surrounding it.

Sunquest is now offering the three-strong 'Magic' range of high-pressure, vertical and lie-down tanning units, manufactured under licence from an Italian producer at the company's factory in Manchester.

Sales director Gary Hobson says: “Our new range of high-pressure units is already proving extremely popular and we want to help our customers better understand the procedure.

“High pressure tanning is nowhere near as intense as it sounds. Best explained, low-pressure tanning has the sunburn potential of the midday sun and the tanning potential of the early morning sun, while high-pressure offers the tanning potential of the midday sun, but with only the burning potential of the early morning sun.”

Initially, a minimum of six minutes is required on high-pressure sunbeds due to the small amount of tan-creating UVB in the lamps. Subsequent tanning times are then increased to eight, ten or 12 minutes, depending on skin types. Picture shows the Sunquest Magic 420
