Tomahawk/Reebok's new fleet

Tomahawk Indoor Cycling and Reebok Fitness Equipment announced the amalgamation of their respective brands for the UK's indoor cycling market earlier this year and launched a new fleet of bikes at the same time.

One of these was the X Series, which has generated a lot of interest because of its patented Smart Drive System.

This is a fully enclosed friction clutch arrangement which is said to greatly improve user safety, especially in environments such as youth development or lower limb rehabilitation. It calibrates from 100 pct fixed to nearly freewheeling.

Other features include a high performance cantilever emergency brake system, zinc plated 2 layer powder coating for maximum corrosion protection, fully enclosed chain guard, unisex gel saddle, 22kg centre balanced flywheel, SPD pedals fitted as standard, and a superior silent chain drive with patented rubber coated sprocket.

Also on board are micro adjustable handlebars and saddle positioning, making it suitable for users from 140cm to 210cm in height.

The X Series was launched along with two other models - the E Series and the S Series.
