Egypt aims to become winter resort for pensioners
Egypt has announced hopes to become an international winter resort for pensioners and has sent a delegation of doctors and experts to Norway to investigate the project.
Tourism minister, Mamduh El-Beltagui hopes to create “an international community where pensioners could come for the winter” offering cultural events, medical assistance and curative tourism.
He added that facilities could be set up in different parts of the country, including existing resorts such as the Red Sea.
Egypt received over five million visitors last year and expects to surpass that figure this year.
