Some of the leading US-based training providers including ACSM, NASM and ACE have been working closely with the Register of Exercise Professionals in the UK (REPSUK) to review their training programmes and practices so there can be some recognition of their certificates.

NASM has already established its credentials through David Lloyd Leisure (DLL) and Performance Training Solutions.

ACE has agreed to support the requirements of recognition and ACSM has generously been co-operating with the development of the level 4 standards in the UK.

All three providers have looked closely at the European standards developed by the European Health and Fitness Association (EHFA) as a benchmark for further working and recognition.
