High hopes for a hit

High Striker from Bremen-based iocus Systems GmbH is a totally new attraction from a totally new company.
Although similar to the original fairground attraction where visitors hit a button with a big hammer and tried to ring a bell, High Striker is different in that it fires a person into the air instead.
Depending on the power of the stroke, the person - seated in a special gondola - will be shot up to a maximum travelling height of 6m.
There is also a special programme which allows children - and what the company refers to as 'less dynamic persons' - to shoot their parents or friends up to the top.
The launch is accompanied by light and sound effects which vary according to the height reached by the gondola.
High Striker, which has a total height of 12m and a footprint of 6.5m x 4m, had its debut at this year's Munich Oktoberfest. Its capacity is between 30-60 persons per hour, with each having 3 hits.
