KAL are seeking expressions of interest to identify a suitably experienced, commercial climbing wall operator with a strong track record to assume the operation of the climbing wall at Huddersfield Leisure Centre.

Huddersfield Leisure Centre, opened in 2015, after a £36million build and currently generates footfall of over 880,000 per annum. The climbing wall has been part of the centre since opening and the original lease of the previous operator has now expired, creating an opportunity for the right operator to take the facility forward.

• A demise of 211m² including 12.5m wall and bouldering area.
• Access controlled entry point with dedicated reception area
• The wall has 25 standard top ropes and 2 Trublue Auto belays
• The wall has both a beginners area and lead climb area
• Approximately 3000 holds are included

The opportunity if offered on a lease basis with a rental level of £25k per annum.

The successful operator will be fully responsible for all aspects of the operation of the climbing wall including staffing, health and safety and maintenance. KAL will provide support in relation to customer access, promotion within the wider facility and children’s party products with the aim of developing a strong partnership.

Initial expressions of interest are sought via an overview questionnaire which can be obtained by contacting Barry.Turnbull@kal.org.uk

For an informal discussion regarding the opportunity please contact Barry.Turnbull@kal.org.uk

Closing date for expressions of interest to be received is 5pm Monday 25th March 2019

Following the initial expression of interest process, should there be several suitable interest parties, a further process will take place to identify a preferred operator.
