Hydro Physio to show at LIW

The new Hydro Physio fitness system uses water in a free-standing personal cabinet to provide what is claimed to be a new level of performance in training.

Effectively a treadmill in an enclosure filled with warm water, Hydro Physio training is said to be less impacting on the joints and allows a well balanced and controlled method of exercise for both rehabilitating athletes and those just wanting to improve their general fitness.

The level of the water and the speed at which the running bed travels can be programmed to suit the needs of an individual user, with different water heights enabling different muscle groups to be worked on. For a tougher workout, resistance jets are controllable with varying degrees of intensity.

Glass side panels on the cabinet make users feel less enclosed and give training staff a full view of how an athlete is moving. Assisted by lighting in the water, this can help with the detection and treatment of injuries.

Suitable for use as part of an existing circuit training regime, Hydro Physio's speed, depth and resistance are fully programmable through a touch screen facing the user.

Hydro Physio can be found on Stand 1180 in Hall 17, where Martin Savage and his team will be on hand .
